Kreski To Be Inducted Into NMU Sports Hall

Deanna (nee Sutton) Kreski of St. Ignace will be inducted into the Northern Michigan University (NMU) Sports Hall of Fame during ceremonies at the University Center Great Lakes Room Saturday, April 24.
"I am excited and honored to be inducted into the hall of fame," said Kreski. "This is a special day not for just me, but for my family."
The Great Lakes Interscholastic Association Conference Player of the Year received All-American honors and captured the most valuable player award during the 1991- 1992 season.
Kreski scored 1,138 points and recorded 712 rebounds during her two years at NMU after beginning her collegiate career at Lake Superior State University.
The career scoring leader at Rudyard High School with 1,476 points, she lettered for four years for the Bulldogs.
"Rod Kauppila, teacher and coach at Rudyard High School, was an inspiration for me during my high school career," said Kreski.
She has worked for 16 years for the St. Ignace school district as a student family advocate.
Her husband, Paul, son Gage, parents Tom and Karen Boger and Tom and Pam Sutton, and friends will be in attendance with her for the ceremony at NMU.
