Darlaine J. Hines, 73, of Gould City, died Monday, April 19, 2010, at her home.
She was born February 1, 1937, in Hermansville, to Albert and Leola (nee Yale) O’Neil.
She moved to Gould City as a child, and was graduated from the Gould City high school.
She married James E. Hines June 29, 1957, in Gould City.
Mrs. Hines was a beautician. A member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church of Naubinway, she enjoyed traveling, shopping, playing bingo, and visiting the casino.
She is survived by three sons and their families, Anthony and Jacky Hines of Gould City, Todd and Tammy Hines of Curtis, and Shawn and Sue Hines of Jackson; two daughters and their families, Rhonda and Richard Noble of West Branch, and Shelley and Abe McGahan of Gould City; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother and his family, Ronald and Nina O’Neil of Gould City; a sister and her family, Beverly and Robert King of Naubinway, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, who died November 15, 2003, and three brothers, James McNeil, Alvin McNeil, and Timothy O’Neil.
Visitation was Friday, April 23, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, with parish liturgical prayers at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Timothy Hruska officiating. Burial followed in the Newton Township Cemetery at Gould City.
The Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique assisted the family with arrangements.
