1st Steps Taken for Community Hall

The Clark Hill law firm will be Brevort Township's bond attorney for the grant and loan used to develop the township's new community center, the Brevort Township board decided at a special meeting Friday, May 21. The board also selected R.S. Scott Associates as the architect for the project.

Hiring Clark Hill will cost $8,500, along with $750 for expenses, Supervisor Ed Serwach said. Hiring R.S. Scott Associates will cost $26,600. The fees will be paid for from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grant and bond. The grant will be $105,000, while the bond will be $250,000. Mr. Serwach expects to receive the funding by the end of June.

Once the money is received from the USDA, the project is expected to be available for bids in July. In August the bids will be reviewed, and work should begin by September for the hall in Moran, Mr. Serwach said.
