Darlene Jungenberg

Darlene Jungenberg Darlene Jungenberg Darlene Francis Jungenberg, 52, of St. Ignace, died Thursday morning, June 10, 2010, at Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace.

She was born April 3, 1958, in Washington County, Wisconsin, to Vincent and Gloria (nee Wilson) Jungenberg.

After graduation, Ms. Jungenberg worked in heavy construction, as a hotel maid in St. Ignace, and in customer service sales.

Ms. Jungenberg loved people, friends said, and she always returned home to St. Ignace to Bob Kerry, a special friend she called her “lucky charm.” A bench will be installed in a city park in the fall in her memory.

She is survived by two daught ers, Margaret Carey of Kincheloe and Debbie Fine of Jacksonville, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Olivia and Amelia; two brothers and their families, Richard and Donna Jungenberg of Chubbuck, Idaho, and Gary Avery of Phoenix, Arizona, and four sisters and their families, Donna Jungenberg of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Diana Putt of Atlanta, Georgia, Debbie Kulbecki of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Denise Jungenberg, also of Green Bay.

Memorial services will be Saturday, August 14, at 2 p.m. at Dodson Funeral Home. Pastor Freeman Pierce and his wife, Faye, of Kilgore, Texas, will officiate and provide music. Her daughter, Margaret, will sing.

Dodson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
