Betty and Ken Teysen on their wedding day (left) and today. Ken and Betty Teysen of Mackinaw City celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Thursday, June 10, with family and friends at the Church of the Straits in Mackinaw City.

They were married June 10, 1945, in East Lansing.

Mr. Teysen served as an officer in the Army Air Corps as a meteorologist. Upon discharge, he managed the family business, Teysen’s Food. He served on numerous civic organizations in Mackinaw City such as Lions Club, school board, church board, historical society, Mackinac Island State Park Commission, and the Michigan Travel Bureau.

The couple have three children, Marsha of Sault Ste. Marie, Greg of Mackinaw City, and Beth of Tucson, Arizona. Their son, Kenny, died in 1965.

They have two grandsons.
