Morey Courts Win AAU State Championship


The Morey Courts AAU girls basketball team from Mount Pleasant, coached by Marc Sroufe of Mount Pleasant and Greg Wright of St. Ignace, captured the Division 11 state championship in the age 14 and younger category the weekend of June 12. The team includes (front, from left) Mackenzie Edwards of Gaylord, Hannah Yesmunt of Sheppard, Madison Bankey of Traverse City, Meredith Hamlet of McBain; (back) Sarah Miller of Edmore, Jamie Justin of Leroy/Pine River, Kelley Wright of St. Ignace, Lauren Lyon of Mount Pleasant, and Kaleigh Kovac of Alma.
