John Livingston
John W. Livingston, 73, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, at his summer home in Shelby, where he enjoyed being part of the Little Point Sable Community.
Mr. Livingston served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany
He was graduated from Ferris Institute and was a former owneroperator of RPM, Inc., a distributor of power transmission products in Grand Rapids.
He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, liked driving his boat on the river and his black Jeep on the sand dunes, was an avid traveler, and loved being with his grandchildren. His first priority was his family.
Mr. Livingston is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mona (nee Warner), formerly of St. Ignace; a daughter and her family, Carrie Morris and Steven Morris of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; a son and his family, David and Melissa Livingston of Ada; four grandchildren, Madeline and Megan Morris, Sarah and John Livingston; a brother and his family, Paul and Mary Livingston of Jacksonville, Florida; a niece and her family, Jennifer and CR Gittere of Charlotte, North Carolina; a nephew, Craig Livingston of East Point, Georgia; a cousin and his family, James and Jackie Livingston of Williamsburg, Virginia, and a sister-in-law and her family, Gail and Don Warner-Olsen.
Visitation was Sunday, June 20, at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel in Grand Rapids. Services were at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids Monday, June 21, with Pastor Richard Raum and Pastor Steve Samuelson officiating.
Mr. Livingston was in the care of Spectrum Hospice of Grand Rapids and Harbor Hospice of Muskegon during his illness of pulmonary fibrosis.
