Lucille Kriesche
Lucille Kriesche, 94, of North Pine River Road in the St. Ignace area, died Thursday evening, June 17, 2010, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 21, 1915, in Cheboygan, to Charles Victor and Ida (nee Neilson) Matson.
Mrs. Kriesche was graduated from LaSalle High School in 1934.
She married Jack Kriesche in 1943.
Mrs. Kriesche worked in many St. Ignace businesses, including Lazy Bob’s Fishery, St. Ignace Bakery, A&P Store, Arnold Line, Ben Franklin, Soo Lumber, Indian Village, and also some motels. She was involved with her family and helped her husband with his business.
Her hobbies included gardening, snowmobiling, and helping people. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge. Mrs. Kriesche will be remembered for her smile and her love of children, friends said.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and their families, Harold and Sally Kriesche of St. Ignace and Michael Kriesche of Hessel; a daughter and her family, Jackie and Donald McCormack of Garden City; five grandchildren and their families, Dale Kriesche, Debbie Andrews, Dorothy Aungst, Marc McAllister, and Mason McAllister, and seven greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Clarence, Harold, and Hubert Matson.
Visitation was Monday, June 21, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Dodson Funeral Home. Services were at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Coen officiating. Burial will be in Carp River Cemetery.
