Down Memory Lane Parade Is a Crowd Favorite at St. Ignace Car Show

At left: A 14-foot tall white tail deer travels past St. Ignace City Hall on State Street during the Down Memory Lane Parade. The deer, when off the trailer, is 12-feet tall and normally stands in front of the Deer Ranch on west US-2. Harold and Sally Kriesche, owners of the business, pulled the fiberglass deer in their pickup truck. The Deer Ranch, which opened in 1950, is celebrating 60 years in business. A street rod with a chopped top sports unique top-positioned windshield wipers, which came in handy during the Down Memory Lane Parade Friday. The 1934 white Plymouth has a 350 Chevy engine and is owned by Ed and Sue Drake of Rochester, Minnesota. Colonial House guests used a covered porch and top deck to avoid raindrops that fell at the start of the parade.
