Gerald Harrison, 67, of Pickford, was traveling northbound Tuesday, June 22, at 8:45 a.m. on M-129 when he drove his pickup into the back of an excavator, also traveling northbound. Mr. Harrison sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the excavator was not injured.

Michigan State Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

Mr. Harrison owned and operated a plumbing and heating business in Pickford. He is survived by his wife, two children, and four stepchildren. An obituary is published in this issue of The St. Ignace News.
