Station St. Ignace Reservists Are Aiding in Gulf Coast Oil Clean-up

Coast Guard Station St. Ignace reservists Chris Royal, Lyndsae Armentrout, and Paul Wing are assisting in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill clean up, Chief John Tracy told The St. Ignace News Friday, June 25.

“They were trained for everything they needed to be trained on. When the call came, they were ready to go,” he said.

The reservists have assisted the effort for more than a month now, working 16-hour days at times.

“They've really been hitting that hard,” Chief Tracy said.

The three have been deployed to different locations, and are aiding wherever necessary. They will be deployed for 30 to 90 days, he said.
