Lucille ‘Peggy’ Binger
Lucille “Peggy” Binger, 84, of St. Ignace, was a former owner of Millers Camp on US-2 near St. Ignace with her husband, Paul. Mrs. Binger, formerly of Ovid, died Thursday afternoon, June 24, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Lorrie.
She was the daughter of Woody and Alice (nee Teetes) Mole.
She married Paul Binger Sr. October 19, 1945, in Ovid.
Mrs. Binger moved to St. Ignace in 1972, and she and her husband owned the restaurant and bar until 1992.
She was active in the Licensed Beverage Association for many years; the Mackinac County Snowmobile Club; Moose Lodge; and a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church. Mrs. Binger enjoyed music, dancing, and playing the organ. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children and their families, Terry and Gerry Binger of Alma, Lynn and Carole Binger, Randy and Denise Binger, all of St. Ignace, Lorrie and Larry Burtovoy of Caffey; two siblings, Jerry Mole of Florida and Evelyn Matznick of Byron; 15 grandchildren, and many greatgrandchildren. She especially loved her 14-year-old dog, Cinci.
Mrs. Binger was preceded in death by her husband, who died June 10, 1994; a son, Paul Jr.; two brothers, Jack Mole and R.J. Role; one sister, Irene Kapral; and one great-granddaughter, Margaret Mary Praasterink.
Visitation was Sunday, June 27, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dodson Funeral Home in St. Ignace. Parish prayers were at 8 p.m. Mass was Monday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Father Pawel Mecwel and Deacon Donald Olmstead officiating. Burial was in Caffey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Curtis Binger, Christopher Binger, Kyle Binger, Zachery Binger, Everett Binger, and Larry Burtovoy Jr.
Memorial donations may be made to hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
