Brevort
Miss Violet Gustafson of St. Ignace visited with her aunt and uncle, Marilee and Eric Barthelemy, and cousins, Tyler, Michael, and Erin, last week in Brevort.
Terry Houston of Napoleon, Ohio, spent a few days at the Coffey cottage this past week on his way to British Columbia.
Dottie Glashaw observed a red fox in her yard Monday morning, July 19. A woodpecker was pecking away at her house, feasting on bugs caught in spider webs.
Brevorters enjoying the vesper cruise Friday evening, July 16, were Sharon Smith, Tom and Joyce Gustafson, and Carol and John Watson. Beatrice and John Zak of St. Ignace joined them.
Sharon Chalmers went swimming in Lake Michigan last week. It was a day of waves and she has a few cuts and bruises from hitting the numerous rocks in the lake. Joe Chalmers did not go swimming.
Six huge beech trees were cut down in the yard of Pat and Gordon Knight’s home on Wildwood Lane owing to the disease that is decimating the beech trees in our area. A blue spruce was also removed. There is definitely a change of the view. A groundhog is reported to be selectively eating Pat’s flowers. The Knights saw a black bear on the Brevort Lake Campground Road last week.
Kathy Reid’s sister, Becky Doran of Traverse City, was a guest at the home of Kathy and Bob Jarzynka Thursday, July 15, and Friday, July 16.
Joe Stewart has arrived back in Brevort after a two-week stay in Fort Myers, Florida. Guests at the Stewart-Quigley home are Sharon and Dick Gothagen of Pennsylvania and Fort Myers, Florida.
Sherry and Don Gustafson are enjoying their new travel trailer at the Lake Michigan site. Bradley, Lucas, and Linnie have been swimming in the lake.
We had the pleasure of meeting Beth Beaudoin Saturday, July 17, as she and Kyle Everson delivered a new bed to the lake house.
