Mary Cruickshank
Mary Margaret Cruickshank, 92, of Pickford, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Lake Leelanau.
She was born November 13, 1917, in Pickford to William and Anne (nee Sims) Stevenson.
She was graduated from Pickford High school in 1937 and, that same year, married William Cruickshank October 27. The couple farmed together until their children were reared and then Mrs. Cruickshank worked at Pickford Dry Goods for 16 years.
She loved every day at her hob and enjoyed visiting with people, her children remember.
Mrs. Cruickshank was a member of Pickford United Methodist Church and Pickford Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a son and his family, Ronald and Paula Cruickshank of Suttons Bay; a daughter and her family, Margaret and Charles Bess of Oscoda; three grandsons and their families, James and Christine Jeske, Joseph and Linda Jeske, and Benjamin Cruickshank; great-grandchildren, Mykayla Jeske, Austin Jeske, and Austin Potts; a brother, Robert Stevenson of Ypsilanti; a sister, Susan Coppel of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cruickshank passed away in 1978, and Mrs. Cruickshank was also preceded in death by five brothers, William, Fredrick, Otto, Clifford, and Alex Stevenson, and two sisters, Annie Allan and Charlotte Kaspar.
Visitation was Monday, July 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Reamer Galer Funeral Home in Pickford.
Services were Tuesday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Pickford Township.
