Stacey L. Bruce, 35, of Newberry, died suddenly Friday evening July 16, 2010, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born June 2, 1975, in Newberry, she was the daughter of Lawrence "Buddy" and Clara Bell (nee Sevarns) Bruce.

Ms. Bruce was employed over the years at Pickelman's Subway, Adult Learning Systems, Harbor House, Big Boy, and Head Start. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, and her family and children, and she loved to make people happy, said her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Taija, Shanna, and Kaleigh Garms, all of Newberry; her parents, Buddy Bruce of Traverse City and Clara Bell Bruce of Newberry; eight siblings and their families, Veronica and Ed Lemieux of Newberry, Clifford and Joy Bruce of Hessel, Gary and Lisa Bruce of Lakefield Township, Debbie and Ron McCord of Hessel, Ranee Bruce and Mike McNeeley of St. Ignace, Butch and Becky Bruce of St. Ignace, Cristy Bruce of California, and Tony Bruce of Traverse City, and by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Billie Joe Bruce, and her stepfather, Lee Baker.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will take place Thursday, July 22, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry.
