What a wonderful weekend for the town of Engadine, where many folks gathered for the all-class reunion Saturday, July 24, and Sunday, July 25, for Heritage Day.

“Tumbledown Town" will be a play presented Thursday, July 29, through Saturday, July 31, at 8 p.m. at the Erickson Center for the Arts in Curtis. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and younger. For more information, call (906) 586-9974.

The Newberry Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic will be Friday, July 30, at 1 p.m. Check-in is at 12:30 p.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The event will be held at the Newberry Country Club, on the corner of M-28 and M-123 in Newberry. Cost is $45 per golfer. To register, call the Chamber of Commerce office at (906) 293-5562.

The "Rock For Life" Christian rock concert will be Saturday, July 31, from noon to 6 p.m. at Hudson Township Park in Rexton. The concert will feature the Andy Stefanich Band and the Mark White Band. Featured speaker will be Pastor Benjamin Lehew from Teen Challenge of Western Michigan. Food and drinks will be available on the premises. The event is sponsored by the Rexton Mennonite Church.

There will be a Farmers Market Saturday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Engadine Mill Pond Park Pavilion on M-117 in Engadine.

The Hiawatha Sportsman's Club 60th Annual Art and Hobby Show will be Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hiawatha Sportsman's Club Activities Building on N7269 Lake Boulevard in Engadine, off H-40. There will be paintings, wood carvings, stained glass, baskets, jewelry, and quilting.

An afternoon of fine art with Maeve Croghan and live music with Will and Ann Rowland will be Sunday, August 1, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chamberlin's Ole Forest Inn in Curtis.

There will be a golf scramble Sunday, August 1, at 11 a.m. at the Newberry Country Club, sponsored by Erickson Center for the Arts. Cost is $40 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf. For more information, call Rick Soder at (906) 586-3667 or Erickson Center for the Arts at (906) 586-9974.

Music in the Park featuring "Generations" will be Wednesday, August 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Curtis Park. The event is sponsored by Erickson Center for the Arts.

The annual chicken and steak dinner will be Sunday, August 1, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Friendship Center at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at N8696 Highway M- 117, north of Engadine. Everyone is welcome.
