Yachts Compete for Island Finish Line

Boats in the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac make their way toward the finish line. Around 6 p.m. Monday, July 26, there were still more than 200 sailboats sailing toward Mackinac Island. First to reach the Island was Dog- Dayz, and other early finishers were Intangible, Beau Geste, and Windquest. With handicaps, the following winners were announced: Lady K of Muskegon, owned by Mike Stewart, Chicago- Mackinac Trophy; Flying Jenny VI of Annapolis, Maryland, owned by David Askew, Mackinac-Cup Division; Intangible of Chicago, owned by Tom Falck, Cruising Division; Gamera of Chicago, owned by Matt Schari, Multihull Division.
