Local Veterans To Join Freedom Ride

Local members of the Forgotten Eagles veterans group will participate when the Forgotten Eagles hold their annual motorcycle freedom ride to support Michigan veterans Wednesday, August 4, through Saturday, August 7. Riders will begin in Sault Ste. Marie Wednesday, traveling to the western end of the U.P. before heading back toward the Mackinac Bridge, with an anticipated arrival in St. Ignace Friday around 12:30 p.m., at the Truck Stop restaurant on US-2. After crossing the Mackinac Bridge, riders will meet downstate supporters at the Shell station in Mackinaw City before proceeding south. Riders will go through all 83 counties in Michigan.

In its last leg, the Freedom Ride will leave Houghton Lake Saturday, August 7, ending at Island Park in Mount Pleasant with a closing ceremony.

The Forgotten Eagles donate 100% of the event proceeds to the Michigan Veterans’ Trust Fund.
