Sault History Fest Will Be July 30-31
The Sault History Fest will be Friday, July 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Portage Avenue between the Soo Locks Boat Tours Dock 2 and the Power Canal in Sault Ste. Marie. Admission is free.
Friday will feature a fish boil, music at Finn Hall, and the Saginaw Voyageurs Encampment. Tickets for the fish boil are $12 per person and must be purchased in advance. Tickets can be purchased at the Chippewa County Historical Society, Sault Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce.
Fur trade and trade good demonstrations by Randy Miller will be Saturday, in addition to the Saginaw Voyageurs and other period encampments, interactive cricket demonstrations by Tom Melville, tours of Maple Ridge Cemetery, local historical groups’ information booths, and children’s historical games and activities. Music and historical crafts will also be available Saturday.
