Pauline Huffman

Pauline L. Huffman, 65, a longtime resident of Newberry, died at her home surrounded by her family and Northwoods Home Health and Hospice Thursday, July 22, 2010.

She was born August 3, 1944, in Munising to Louis J. “Buck” and Lula M. (nee Morrison) Manville. She moved to the Newberry area in 1956 and was graduated from Newberry High School in the class of 1962.

She married Dennis Huffman August 10, 1962, in Newberry.

Mrs. Huffman was a homemaker who enjoyed being a Brownie Leader for many years, painting, stained glass working, and quilting. She was especially interested in genealogy. She enjoyed caring for her children, sewing, canning, gardening, and visits from her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Dennis; three daughters and their families, Cauline Huffman and James Mayor of Engadine, Jenny and Don Hooper, and Roberta Huffman, all of Newberry; two sons and their families, John and Rose, and Brad and Michelle, all of Newberry; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five siblings and their families, Dan and Amy Manville of Ann Arbor, Jack and Cindy Manville of Sault Ste. Marie, Jim and Kathy Manville of Newberry, Dave and Terry Manville of South Lyons, and Patty and Herb Ames of Sault Ste. Marie.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Teagan Hooper.

Friends gathered with the family Sunday, July 25, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry and also at the Newberry United Methodist Church Monday, July 26, from noon until the time of services. Services were conducted at the United Methodist Church Monday, July 26, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Saundra Clark officiating. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery in Newberry.

The family suggests memorials may be given to Northwoods Home Health and Hospice.
