This year’s Rudyard Lions Triathlon features a wide age range of contestants, from first-time triathlon participant six-year-old Autumn Eles of Brimley to Dick Graves of Traverse City. Miss Eles will only need to compete in 75 more years of triathlons to equal Mr. Graves’ continuing efforts. (Photograph by Tom Ewing) A record 117 participants entered the 14th Annual Rudyard Lions Summerfest Triathlon and 5K Run Sunday, July 25, in Rudyard.

The top male runner in the 5K run was Rick Hawley of East Jordan with a time of 19.52, and Allie Brawly of Sault Ste. Marie was the top female runner with a time of 23.05.

Taking first overall in the unique reverse Triathlon (run 5K, bike 24.3K, and swim) were David Blake of Brownstown in 1:10.13 and Katie Ludlow of Petoskey in 1:26.35.
