Open Scramble Golf Tournament in memory of Reuben Wickstrom Koivuniemi at the St. Ignace Golf Club Thursday, July 22. The 35 golfers were members of the Koivuniemi family.

Reuben Koivuniemi passed away in January 2002 and his wife, Marie, died in February 2008. They reared four boys, Carl of Long Island, New York, Paul of Indianapolis, Dave of St. Ignace, and Peder of Aliso Viejo, California.

"The family gets together for a week in July and before R.W. died, we started this tournament and have carried it on in his memory," said Dave Koivuniemi.

Four person teams play the nine-hole tournament, paired to make them as equal as possible. Four teams tied with a low score of 34, the winner selected on the lowest number of putts. The high score was 38.
