Beatrice Brisson

Beatrice Brisson Beatrice Brisson Beatrice Ida Miller Brisson, 92, of DeTour Village, died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.

She was born November 8, 1917, in McCarron, to James and Ida (nee Tuck) Dyer.

Mrs. Brisson lived most of her life in DeTour and was graduated from DeTour Schools.

She married Arthur L. Miller January 19, 1936, in Detroit. In 1945 they moved to DeTour. After raising their family, she worked as a school bus driver for DeTour Public Schools for 10 years and as a cook for the DeTour Senior Center for 10 years.

Her husband died in 1971, and she married Gerald Brisson in 1984.

She was the only remaining founding member of the DeTour Union Presbyterian Church, where she belonged to the Dorcus Society, served as president and treasurer, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and also served as ceacon and trustee. Mrs. Brisson was also a member of the DeTour Area and the Raber Area Senior Citizen Clubs. She enjoyed dancing and playing bingo.

Mrs. Brisson is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Miller and Diane Miller, both of Lansing; three grandsons and their families, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughterin law, Cornelia Miller.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur; her second husband, Gerald, in 2000; her son, Terrance Miller, in 1997; six brothers, Glen, Norman, Willard, George, Alan, and Robert Dyer, and her sister, Frances Fegan.

Services were Tuesday, August 3, at DeTour Union Presbyterian Church. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to noon with the service at noon. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in DeTour Township.
