Mackinac Island
The weather on Mackinac has been unusual, with extremely warm temperatures and high humidity. Folks enjoyed swimming in the Straits of Mackinac and other summer activities. Sunday, August 15, a cold front started moving through our area and the temperatures started to moderate. Tuesday, August 17, was a delightful summer Mackinac day with bright sunshine, blue skies, and comfortable temperatures. The wind was blowing from the west and the kite display, by Great Turtle Toys, off Winder mere Point was great with a variety of colors and shapes of every description. Families are traveling to Mackinac to enjoy vacation before school starts, and the little ones are thrilled to see all the kites.
