Read the Lease Contract (and Reconsider the Old Magazines)

To the Editor:

Living in a senior apartment complex is very interesting. The apartment where I am now residing is my third one in the past 20 years. Actually I think that I could write a “best seller” book on the subject.

I would like to give a bit of advice. The minute that your belongings are installed, sit down and read your lease from cover to cover. This will inform you as to what you can and cannot do in regards to the complex. I’m betting 75% of tenants never read their lease.

Also, why do people dump magazines (some four years old) and books by the tub full or bag full at senior complexes? I’m sure some of the newer ones would be appreciated. Do the givers think that they are helping out the “old folks” or just trying to get rid of what they don’t want around?
