St. Ignace
Members of the LaSalle High School band, directed by Jason Byma, attended marching band camp at the school Wednesday, August 25, and Thursday, August 26. A few new songs were introduced in preparation for a busy marching season.
Angela Litzner and Donna Dutcher report the folks who attend the Take Five program at Community Action Agency like to make various projects, and the most recent one was making dog treats.
Ben Bingham underwent surgery Monday, August 30. Please keep Ben in your prayers.
Goldie Blair is now residing in Traverse City, having moved there from East Lansing.
A St. Ignace band, “Aisle Eight,” entertained folks in Hessel Saturday, August 28. The oldies but goodies music consists of a fivemember group, including Vicki Hough on keyboards, Mike Hough on drums, and three guitarists, Ron Belonga, Kim St. Andrew, and Ed Olson.
Catholic Girls Gone Bad will perform Thursday, September 2, at 7 p.m. at the marina. The outdoor concerts are free of charge.

Arts and Crafts Dockside will be Saturday, September 4, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in St. Ignace.
The 53rd annual Mackinac Bridge Walk will be Monday, September 6.
The Chippewa County Fair is in progress. Many families will visit for a day of fun.

It is Miss Horn's fourth year as a member of the Honor Guard and Miss Perry's first. Miss Horn is the daughter of Susan and Gary Horn and Miss Perry is the daughter of Deb and Gene Perry, all of St. Ignace. The girls perform flag duties, work as guides at the Mackinac State Historic Parks buildings, and perform community service duties on the Island during their week of service camp.
