Owing to teacher retirements, several classes will be taught by new teachers this year at LaSalle High School in St. Ignace.

Roxanne Smith will be teaching English for grades 11 and 12, formerly taught by retired teacher Kathy Schacht, and Dave Brines will be teaching 10th grade English. New hire Jennifer Tallaire will be teaching ninth grade English and two social studies classes.

New hire Kevin Brady will be teaching two computer classes and one business class, and industrial arts will be taught by Nick Hein, who replaces retired teacher Lynwood Leightner.

The high school will no longer offer art classes, which were formerly taught by retired teacher Leon Ruder.
