Mackinac Straits Named United Way Business Neighbor

2010-09-02 / News

Mackinac Straits Health System of St. Ignace was named Business Neighbor for the month of August through the United Way of the EUP Volunteer Center's Recognition Spotlight program. It was recognized for its partnership with the Community Health Access Coalition, which began in 2005. The partnership started with the hospital donating office visits and laboratory services for patients enrolled in the coalition program, and it was expanded to include a 50% discount on hospital services. The coalition moved into donated office space at the old hospital facility next to the pediatric practice in August. Pictured are (from left) Sherry Robison (CHAC nominator), Karen Cheeseman, Karen Litzner, Laura Anderson, Tamie Hartwig, Barb Davis, Andrea Osbron (CHAC nominator), and Sally Levell.
