Yacht racing season on Mackinac Island comes to a close when sails are hoisted for the 16th annual Horn's Bar Labor Day Regatta Sunday, September 5. All area sailors are welcome to participate in the approximately 10-mile challenge that includes one lap around the Island.

A skippers' meeting for racers is set for 1:30 p.m. at the Mackinac Island Yacht Club with a race start at 2:15 p.m.

Awards will be given to all participants at a ceremony following the race. Food and refreshments will be served at 5 p.m. at the yacht club. The event is free.

A change of watch ceremony is planned prior to the race at the Mackinac Island Yacht Club at 1 p.m.
