Ryerse Captures St. Ignace Match Play Title

Paul Ryerse, St. Ignace Paul Ryerse, St. Ignace Paul Ryerse outlasted Frank Feher two holes to one, capturing the championship of the Senior Match Play Tournament at the St. Ignace Golf Club Tuesday, August 24.

Ryerse, who shot 76 in the championship match, defeated John Ruegg, Norbert Landreville, and Gene Massey to reach the finals. Feher carded a score of 78 in the finals

Golf League Results

The team of Arnie Frazier, Leonard Valentine, and Russ Caskey finished first and the foursome of Ollie House, Bucky McPhee, and Ross Kerton placed second during the Senior League at the St. Ignace Golf Club Tuesday, August 17.

Paul Ryerse was closest to the pin on number seven and Russ Caskey carded low net with 32 and low gross with 38.

Munoscong Mixed Doubles

The team of Dave and Pam Postma and Horace and Phyllis Baxter carded 36 with 13 putts for first place in the Munoscong Mixed Doubles Golf League Thursday, August 26.

The foursome of Bill and Marilyn McKerchie and Arvid and Theora Hamilton placed second after recording a score of 36 with 16 putts, and the group of Stu and Joyce Murray and Mike and Penny Poluk won the team special events.

Joyce Alley made the longest putt on number two, Bill Beacom was closest to the pin with his third shot on number three, Arvid Hamilton was closest to the pin with his second shot on number four, and John Wilkie wa closest to the pin with his tee shot on number nine.
