School bells rang early Tuesday morning, September 7.

The Habitat for Humanity Hiawatha Land Golf Tournament will be Saturday, September 11, at the Hiawatha Sportsman's Club Golf Course, off US-2 in Naubinway. It will be a nine-hole, two-person scramble. Check-in is at 12:15 p.m., and tee-off is at 1 p.m. The hole-inone prize is an Arctic Cat Crossfire snowmobile. Cost is $25 per person, plus cart. The Tahquamenon Wilderness Canoe Race will be Saturday, September 11. The 17-mile race will be from the Lower Falls to the Whitefish Bay near the Rivermouth Campground. For more information, call Dave and Jane Grondin at (906) 492-3444.

There will be a Farmers Market Saturday, September 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mill Pond Park Pavilion on M-117 in Engadine.

There will be a Farmers Market Wednesday, September 15, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Curtis, next to the Curtis Park.
