Match To Bays
St. Ignace won the first two games at Brimley, 25-20 and 25- 16, before the Bays bounced back to down the Saints, 25-10, 25-17, 15-10, and record the win Tuesday, August 31.
"After winning the first two games, we relaxed and let Brimley back in the match," said Saints Coach Gracia May. "We have to work on our blocking and passing."

Inland Lakes Invite
The St. Ignace Saints finished with a 6-4 overall record during the Inland Lakes Invitational Saturday, August 28, after defeating the host Bulldogs, 25-21 and 25-23, Brimley Bays, 25-18 and 25-13, and Gaylord St. Mary Snowbirds, 25-20 and 25-21, but losing to Cheboygan Chiefs, 14- 25 and 22-25, in pool play and by the Boyne City Ramblers, 13-25 and 14-25, in bracket play.

The Engadine Eagles tallied 96 percent serving during the 25-9, 25-12, 25-10 non-conference win over the Mackinaw City Comets Thursday, September 2.

"This was the highest serving percentage of any team that I have coached in 13 years," said Eagles Coach Kathy Miller. "Overall we played well especially Kacie Rutledge from the back row."

In Road Match
The DeTour Raiders swept the host Mackinaw City Comets, 25- 10, 25-19, 26-24, during a nonconference match Tuesday, August 31.
"I was pleased with the effort. Everyone played well," said Raiders Coach Sarah Galarowic.
"We have struggled in the past against DeTour, but I felt we played well for our first games," said Comets Coach Rachel Wallin. "After the first game, we stepped up our play and communicated much better. Overall, I was pleased with our effort."

The Mackinac Island Lakers swept the Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears, 25-12, 26- 24, 25-15, during a non-conference contest Tuesday, August 31.
"I felt we had strong serving and passing," said Lakers Coach Terri Armstrong.
