HOME OF THE EAGLES•KNOWLEDGE LETS YOU SOAR

Congratulations to seniors Shelby Flatt and Morgan MacArthur who received the 2011 all-class Individual Academic All State Certificate of Achievement Award from the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association. In addition, the varsity volleyball team received the Team Academic All-State achievement award in Class D, Region 2 with a team average of 3.31. This is a great achievement. It is impressive to see this balance of athletics and academics.

We begin the second semester of the school year this week. Students in first through eighth grades recently tested using the GLAD Assessment to measure progress in the gradelevel content expectations. Students take this test three times a year to measure growth. This tool aids teachers in adjusting their planned instruction. Anyone with questions about a student’s progress may call the student’s teacher, Cory Helgesen, or myself.

Several teachers would like to use the talents of volunteers in their classroom. Anyone who has an hour or two each week and would like to volunteer at the school is asked to call the school at 477-6313. We have needs at every level, whether elementary, junior high, or high school.
