Interviews for the new director of the St. Ignace Public Library will begin this week, said Renee Vonderwerth, president of the library board.

Of the 24 applicants, five will be offered interviews. Mrs. Vonderwerth said the board hopes to hire as soon as possible, but that decision would depend on how interviews go.

Barb Zimmerman, assistant to the library director, is serving as interim library director while the board continues its search. The former director, Gina Kemp, left the position to take a new job.
