St. Ignace City Council members and the mayor received $1,490 for attending council and committee meetings in January. The mayor receives $70 to attend council meetings and $60 to attend committee meetings or to represent the city at public events. Councilmen receive $60 for council meetings and $50 for committee meetings.

The Compensation Committee reduced council and mayoral pay rates by $10 per meeting, beginning this month.
