Creating Confident Caregiver Program Begins Wednesday, February 8
Creating Confident Caregivers is a new program for family caregivers of persons with dementia or memory loss. The next workshop starts Wednesday, February 8, in St. Ignace. There is no charge to participants for the sessions or materials and participants who successfully complete the workshop may qualify for a cash incentive. In addition, respite care while attending the sessions can be provided through participating area agencies as needed.
Creating Confident Caregivers is a six-session workshop led by trained dementia care specialists. This program provides participants with information, skills, and attitudes to manage stress and increase their effectiveness as a caregiver.

Creating Confident Caregivers is available through a grant from the U.S. Administration on Aging to the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging, the U.P. Area Agency on Aging/UPCAP, and in partnership with Chippewa-Luce-Mackinac Community Action Agency.
