Ruby Peake

Ruby Peake, 71, of Trout Lake worked for Essex Wire in Sault Ste. Marie as a foreman, for more than 10 years, and drove school bus for the Rudyard School System 23 years. She was also a custodian at the school. Mrs. Peake passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2012, at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey.

She was born in Trout Lake March 10, 1940, to William and Ruby (nee Schultz) Beaudoin. She spent her life in the Trout Lake area, and married Frank Peake September 13, 1957, in St. Ignace.

Mrs. Peake was a devoted mother and grandmother, and always supported her family to the fullest. She was not a materialistic person, friends said. She enjoyed ice skating, bowling, cross country skiing, and playing softball.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; three sons and their families, Billy of Trout Lake, Greg and Crystal Peake of Brimley, and Loren Peake of Sault Ste. Marie; two daughters, Tammy Peake of Trout Lake, and Lorri Peake of Kinross; a brother, William Beaudoin of Trout Lake; four sisters, Patsy, June, Margie, and Mary; five grandchildren and their families, Alisha, Savannah, Cameron, and Kristen Mason, Annabelle Mersaius; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kody, Patrick, Kaylee, Shane, Kyle, Timmy, Laqueria, and one great-great grandchild, Carter.

She was one of 11 children in the Beaudoin family and was preceded in death by Joseph, Charles, Richard, Faye, and Merle, and a granddaughter, Jessica, who died in 2000.

Visitation was Saturday, January 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Dodson Funeral Home with services at 3 p.m. with Pastor Erik Alsgaard officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery in Trout Lake.
