Kay and Bob Beasley are getting to be regular weekend visitors at their home in Brevort. It was good to see them at breakfast Sunday morning, June 2.

Joe Chalmers was a visitor at our home Sunday afternoon, June 2. Many subjects were discussed, as Joe is very informative. I only talked baseball.

Norm Dyer and Tammy Davis have returned from a trip to Georgia to pick up Tammy’s “stuff,” as Norm calls it. Tammy is now a Michigander, as she has a Michigan driver’s license. Welcome to our part of God’s country, Tammy.

Tom Gustafson has built a greenhouse behind the Thread Shed. He and Joyce had a lovely garden last year and shared the bounty from it.

Gordon and Pat Knight arrived at their home in Brevort Saturday evening, June 1, to find grass past their knees, knowing we must have had enough rain to keep it green and tall. Gordon was going to Kansas City, Missouri, to take part in a reenactment of the Coalition of Historical Trekkers. These people carry a 40-pound pack on their backs, and carry a rifle to hike through the woods to eat dry food and whatever they can shoot or trap. As it is, Gordon did not go on the trek but bought mulch for his garden beds. He and Pat are lucky as they missed most of the midge outbreak.

Tina Carlson and Kathy Campbell were in charge at the White Tail Resort Monday, June 3, as Russ and Susie Nesberg enjoyed a day away from the restaurant. Dave and I would enjoy a day away when we owned the resort. One needs to get away occasionally.

There will be a graveside service for Joan Spencer at the Western Cemetery in Brevort Friday, June 14, at 1 p.m. Joan passed away February 23, 2013. An obituary was published in the February 28 issue of The St. Ignace News.

Birthday greetings to Dr. Howard Hague June 26.
