Ivan Wilde


Ivan Wilde Ivan Wilde Ivan Robert Wilde, 66, of St. Ignace, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Mercy Health Partners Mercy Campus in Muskegon.

He was born September 23, 1950, to Ivan and Addie (nee Savard) Wilde in St. Ignace.

Mr. Wilde was graduated from Hart High School in 1968. He continued his education at Muskegon Community College, where he earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice.

He married Mary Collins September 7, 1991, in Muskegon.

Mr. Wilde was employed as a detective sergeant with the Oceana County Sheriff’s Department and also as a warrant officer for the Muskegon County Friend of the Court. He also was employed as a detective with the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department, until he retired in June 2001. After he retired, Mr. Wilde and his wife purchased the Straits View Motel in St. Ignace. He owned Golden Properties Real Estate Agency in St. Ignace. He was employed as the manager of the Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors office in St. Ignace and he worked at Coldwell Banker Northern Lakes in Mackinaw City. He was employed as a deputy with the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked as the recreation vehicle patrol officer.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Charles D. Hammond Lodge 99 in Twin Lake. Mr. Wilde was a member of the Lions Club in St. Ignace and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Wilde; three children and their families, Nanci Wilde and Erick Agosto-Diaz of Orlando, Florida, Robert and Lisa Kay Wilde of Muskegon, and Callie and Chad DeVries of Byron Center; three stepchildren and their families, David and Gina Reed of Muskegon, Susan and Rick Roth of Pennsylvania, and Robert Reed and Mary Van- Hassel of Montague; 12 grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. He is also survived by three sisters and their families, Carol Bentley of Midland, Diane Scofield of Phoenix, Arizona, and Dolores Dusendang of Rockford; two sistersin law and their families, Gloria and Gale Raby of Walkerville and Nancy Raab of Whitehall, and his dog, Buddy.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilde was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Mull, and two sistersin law, Sally Hamel and Barbara Woodwyk.

Mass of the Resurrection was Tuesday, October 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Thomas Bolster officiating. Visitation was Monday, October 3, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at King Funeral Home in Hart, with a rosary prayer service held at 6 p.m.

Interment was in Hart Cemetery.
