Faith Baumann


Faith Baumann Faith Baumann Faith Baumann passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born July 12, 1931 in Mackinaw City, MI the daughter of the late George and Edna Ranville. Being the middle child of nine "9", 8 girls and 1 boy.

Faith met Bill Baumann while he was serving on the US Coast Guard Ice Breaker Mackinaw. Sparks flew so Bill and Faith got married on August 25, 1951 a week after Bill was discharged from the service. They came to Aurora, IL to live and Faith joined St. Paul Lutheran Church where Bill had gone to grade school and church. Faith sang in the choir over 50 years, belonged to the Tabitha Guild and Women's Bible Study Class led by her friend Wanda Horton.

Bill and Faith purchased her grandma’s family home in Mackinaw City in 1977 from Bud and Martha. Together Bill and Faith enjoyed many years of adventures there, especially once Bill retired from the Aurora, IL Fire Department. They also managed Trapper Creek Miniature Golf Club for 21 years. In 1993 Stan McRae asked Bill to take over the M.C. and Greeter for the Labor Day Bridge Walk as Stan has failing health. Bill accomplished this through the approval of the Mayor of Mackinaw City, the Village Counsel, and the Bridge Authority (Especially Jim Eckker and later Bob Sweeney). Faith helped Bill to enjoy all 22 years of Labor Days with welcoming the governor and thousands and thousands of people

Faith also enjoyed golf and bowling, especially with her friends Teri-Sue, Addie, Margaret, Barb, Pearl, Joannie, Lana, Lisa, Jenny, the Thirsty Thursday Gang and especially Paul, Mick, Tom and Fred (for their opening and closing of the home), Denny and Judy, Scott and Cheryl, Al and Joanie, Paul and Betsie, Mich and Tracey and many more in the Legion Auxiliary.

Faith lived up to her name having strong belief in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith did not work in her years of having her five children Bill (Teri) Baumann, Mike (Martha) Baumann, Cheryl (Jim) Johnson, Jeff Baumann, Marie Stevens, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters Martha (Bud) Darrow, Celeste (David) Jewel, her brother Edward (Vivian, deceased) Ranville and two brothers-in-law Fred Thompson, Sr., Dennis Clark, also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Leslie, five sisters Eleanor, Kathryn, Aurelia, Rosalie, Georgiana and three brothers-inlaw Irv McIsac, Bill Ogle and Jack Hartman.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at St Paul Lutheran Church 85 S Constitution Drive in Aurora, IL from 9:30 AM until a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
