Mackinaw City Moves Up in NLC Standings with Alanson Victory

Mackinaw City moved into second place in the Northern Lakes Conference standings Tuesday, October 11, with a victory over visiting Alanson. The Comets vanquished the Vikings in three sets with scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-22.

DeTour Bests Cedarville

DeTour successfully defended its home court against Cedarville Thursday, October 13. The Raiders knocked out the Trojans in three sets with scores of 25-23, 25-15, and 25-14.

Brimley Bests Pickford In Three Sets

Brimley bested Pickford in three sets Thursday, October 13, during its Parents Night celebration. The Bays defeated the Panthers in three sets with scores of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-22. Brimley’s junior varsity team also prevailed with a two-set victory.

Mackinaw City was hot Thursday, October 13, as they hosted Ellsworth. All nine Comets players saw action as the team won its match in three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-15.

DeTour Knocks Down Pickford in Four Sets

DeTour defeated Pickford on the road in four sets Tuesday, October 11. The Raiders won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18 before the Panthers avoided elimination with 25-17 in the third set. DeTour won the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.

Engadine Tops Brimley

Engadine was in control at home Tuesday, October 11, as it shut down Brimley in three sets. The Eagles bested the Bays with scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-18. Engadine was also victorious in JV action as it bested Brimley in two sets with scores of 25-14 and 25-20.

In a close match, the Rudyard Bulldogs delivered Head Coach Ellen Perry’s 500th career win, against Engadine, Thursday, October 13, in Rudyard. With a score of 27-29, 28-30, 25-19, 23-25, each set was closely contested.
