In a disappointing loss for the St. Ignace Saints on the volleyball court, they went down in three sets to the Sault High Blue Devils Tuesday, October 11, in St. Ignace. With a score of 16-25, 16- 25, and 11-25, the Blue Devils dispatched the Saints.

The loss continued a four-game losing streak by the Saints, not counting tournament games.

“They’re beating themselves every game,” said Saints Head Coach Deb Brandstrom.

A powderpuff football game Monday, October 3, between the girls of the junior and senior classes of LaSalle High School sent Saints seniors Jordan Belleville and Jade Edelman to the emergency room. Jade, who injured her knee during the powderpuff game, played volleyball Tuesday, but Jordan, who broke her thumb during the powderpuff game, will likely remain out for another week.

Although the Saints pulled ahead to an 8-2 start in the first set, the Blue Devils rallied to win. The Saints lost the following two sets by large margins.
