Guadalupe Mobley Guadalupe Mobley Guadalupe V. Mobley, 87, of St. Ignace, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away Sunday evening, October 30, 2016, at Tendercare in Sault Ste. Marie, following a lingering illness. She had spent most of her life in Chicago, but moved to St. Ignace when her daughter and son in law, Theresa and Peter Black, moved here.

She was born December 11, 1928, to Felix and Mary (nee Castillo) Cortez in Chicago.

Mrs. Mobley was employed as a court interpreter for the court system in Chicago at one time.

She traveled extensively, and she was active in her community.

She is survived by two daughters and their families, Theresa “Terry” and Peter Black of St. Ignace and Maria and Thomas Nelson of Mapleton, Illinois; three sons and their families, Michael and Ellisa Jenkins of San Francisco, California, Royal “Frank” Jenkins of Paw Paw, Illinois, and David and Roberta Jenkins of Darien, Illinois; 21 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mobley, who died in 1995; a brother, Frank Cortez, and two sisters, Genevieve and Adela.

Services will be Wednesday, November 2, at 4 p.m., at Dodson Funeral Home in St. Ignace with Pastor Susie Hierholzer officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to time of the service.

Her ashes will be buried in Chicago at a later date next to her husband.
