Rose ‘Betty’ Morin


Rose Morin Rose Morin Rose “Betty” (nee Lake) Morin of Grand Rapids passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was 95.

Mrs. Morin was born and grew up in St. Ignace. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, and she had an unwavering devotion to her Catholic religion.

She is survived by six children and their families, Barbara Camenga, James and Debra Morin, Richard Morin, Joan Morin, David and Beth Morin, and Terri Seida; 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Gloria Hanson; a brother and his family, Konrad and Lois Lake, and a sister in law and her family, Pat and Vernor Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard “Bill” Morin; a sister, Melba (nee Lake) Knickerbocker; a granddaughter, Laura Camenga, and her lifelong friend, Betty Hoekstra.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, September 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Grand Rapids with Monsignor

Ernest Schneider officiating. Visitation was Thursday, September 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Zaagman Memorial Chapel in Grand Rapids, with a rosary service held at 7:15 p.m., and also on Friday, from 10 a.m. to time of the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Dan Donnelly Scholarship Fund and Queen of Peace Ministries.
