McKenzie Will Serve 20+ Years

Richard Allan McKenzie, Jr., 55, was sentenced to serve 20 years to life, plus an additional two years, in 11th Circuit in St. Ignace Court Wednesday, November 9, after pleading guilty in September to charges of second-degree murder and felony firearms possession in relation to the October 2014 shooting death in St. Ignace Township of his father Richard McKenzie, 75. Mr. McKenzie will also concurrently serve a sentence of one to four years in prison for the assault of a prison employee while in custody.

Mr. McKenzie was arrested at the scene of the shooting in October 2014 and has remained jailed since. His sentence of 20 years to life is for the murder charge with the twoyear charge for felony firearm possession being served after the completion of the prior sentence.
