Mary ‘Cindy’ Marsh


Mary Marsh Mary Marsh Lifelong Newberry resident Mary L. “Cindy” Marsh, 62, died Monday morning, December 19, 2016, at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital. She had been ill with cancer.

She was born August 26, 1954, to Hollis and Eva (nee Wessel) Marsh in Newberry.

Ms. Marsh was a 1972 graduate of Newberry High School.

She was employed as a chief cook for 42 years, most recently at Zellar’s Village Inn in Newberry.

Ms. Marsh was a past member of the Theto Rho and Rebekah Lodge. She bowled on the Village Inn team for several years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, rummage sales, and campfires with her cousins.

She is survived by four siblings and their families, Fred and Lucille Marsh of Gould City, John and Dawn Marsh of Newberry, Holly and Lawrence Fultz of Newberry, and Lynn and Tom Bentele of Zanoni, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of coworkers at Zellar’s Village Inn who mourn her death and many loyal customers and friends who were her extended family.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Marsh was preceded in death by three siblings, Pat Fair, Jean Garrod Salter, and Herbert Marsh.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating her life will be held Sunday, January 8, at 3 p.m,. at Zellar’s Village Inn.

Interment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Ms. Marsh’s family.

Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry is assisting the family with arrangements.
