Delores Crystal

Delores Crystal Delores Crystal Delores Terese Crystal, 79, of Brevort Lake, passed away Wednesday morning, January 11, 2017, at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey. She had been a resident of Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace for the past eight years.

She was born December 20, 1937, to Raymond and Eunice (nee Ozanich) McLean in St. Ignace.

She married George Crystal February 18, 1955.

A stay-at-home mother, family was most important to Mrs. Crystal. The family lived off the land, with fishing and hunting to provide food. She was a gentle person, and she loved animals.

Mrs. Crystal was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Moran all her life. She was an elder with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

She is survived by six children and their families, Lynn Crystal of Acadia, California, Peter Crystal of Moran, Paul and Jamie Crystal of St. Ignace, Therese Swafford of Mayfield, Kentucky, Mary Cherry, also of Mayfield, and Angelina Worthy of Barlow, Kentucky; grandchildren and their families, Crystal, Elissa, Spencer and Sharman, Erisa, Neil, Alicia, Nathan, Dustin, Donald, and Curtis, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special friend, Debbie Rolston of St. Ignace.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, George, who died May 19, 1983; five sons, John and Mike, at birth, Raymond, at two years old, William, who died in 1981, and Joseph, who died in 1978, and a granddaughter, Becky.

Services will be Thursday, January 19, at 11 a.m. at Dodson Funeral Home in St. Ignace with Father Norbert Landreville and Art Kievit officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of the service.

Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Moran in the spring.
