EUP Friends and Neighbors Offer Warm Welcome

To the Editor:

I wanted all to know how humbled we are for the kindness of people in the entire Eastern U.P. We are still in culture shock, but in a good way. We pinch ourselves daily realizing the privilege of living where we live now. It is only a few words of thankfulness. Hopefully it will show our appreciation for open arms, plowed driveway, winter wisdom, but most important the newly found hope in mankind we thought might be becoming extinct. Religious or non-religious people up here love their neighbors. There is still a strong sense of community. In a nation that is so divided, this is a place where people come together for the need of their fellow man. In this land of cold climate beats the warm hearts of good individuals. My prayer is that this place never changes with these regards. It gives me hope for my grandchildren.
