Theresa Darrow

Theresa Darrow Theresa Darrow Theresa Darrow, 87, of Mackinaw City, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey. She spent her winters in Fort Myers, Florida, where she enjoyed playing cards with friends.

She was born October 13, 1929, to Noah and Aurilla Viau.

Mrs. Darrow grew up in Cheboygan. She was graduated from Cheboygan High School.

She married Don Darrow in October 1947, and together they had two sons, Randy and Glen.

Mrs. Darrow, along with her husband, opened Darrow’s Family Restaurant in the early 1950s. The restaurant was her passion, family members said, and she loved making comfort food for her family and customers. Her famous pies and soups will always be remembered.

She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mackinaw City.

She is survived by two sons and their families, Randy and Traci Darrow and Glen and Robin Darrow; grandchildren Christopher and Jamie, Elizabeth and Chris, Alanna and Herbert, Eric and Jesse, Glen, and Wesley; great-grandchildren, Christopher Sean, Caroline, Catherine, and Elias, and a brother, Charles.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Darrow was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and three siblings, Mary Louise, Helen, and John.

A private memorial is being planned for a later date.

Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey assisted the family with arrangements.
