David Conlon

David Michael Conlon, 72, a resident of Newberry since 2000, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at his home.

He was born August 10, 1944, to Mervin and Annabelle (nee Marlette) Conlon in Newberry.

Mr. Conlon was graduated from Newberry High School in 1963. He served in the Michigan National Guard for several years.

He married Shirley Garland September 5, 1970, in Clarkston.

Mr. Conlon was employed by General Motors in Pontiac for 35 years. He retired in 1999.

He was a member of American Legion Post 74, BPOE 1705, and FOE Aerie 3701, all in Newberry.

Mr. Conlon enjoyed the outdoors and driving his side-by-side ATV.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Newberry; three children and their families, Dawn Conlon and Sean Conlon, both of Flint, and David and Deanna Conlon of Clarkston, and two granddaughters, Nicole Bates and Samantha Conlon. He is also survived by siblings and their families, Sharon Smith of Conway, Judy Weber of Newberry, Shirley and Jack Kisabeth of Curtis, and Pat and Karen Conlon of Newberry, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Conlon was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Keune, and a brother-in-law, Wayne Weber.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery.

Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry assisted the family with arrangements.
